If it’s not too late to say it, Happy New Year!

This is the first of our monthly newsletters where we will be sharing what we’ve been up to at Eden Custom Training, plus break down the key points from the latest guidance and government reports.

New UK resuscitation guidance: stay informed

These new guidelines will be implemented in all accredited training courses from this month.

Whether you’re a workplace first aider, healthcare professional, first responder or safety manager, it’s time to get ready.

From education to Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) and Paediatric Life Support (PLS), there are several crucial changes to be aware of.

HSE Annual Report: our summary

In November, the Government released its HSE Annual Report and Accounts, detailing key information on health and safety in the workplace.

Here are our key takeaways:

  • Around 1.9 million working people suffering from work-related ill health (new or longstanding)
  • Around 680,000 workers sustaining a non-fatal work-related injury
  • 124 worker fatalities from workplace accidents
  • Around 40.1 million working days lost due to work-related ill health and injuries
  • Around £22.9 billion estimated cost of workplace injuries and new cases of work-related ill health (latest available estimate)

These statistics emphasise the need for accurate, up-to-date training and preparation in the workplace.

Making a difference

Over the past six months, we're proud to have provided life-saving training for a variety of organisations.

Since we're always on the road providing a wide range of training, we rarely step back and consider the lives that could be saved by the work we do.

That's why it's important, at the start of this new year, to reflect on our greatest achievements.

  • We provided first-aid training to two cohorts of sixth form students from a local secondary school after they expressed a desire to learn first aid within their timetable
  • We provided defibrillator training in a small Shropshire village, giving residents the confidence they needed to provide life-changing treatment
  • Our team provided essential bleed training for a community church

Work within the hotel or hospitality industries?

If you work in these spaces, you'll know that there's high levels of public interaction, staff turnover and, in turn, legal and moral safety responsibilities.

From first aid to fire marshal courses, we have a wide range of training courses to suit your industry.

2026 is the year to take this seriously. Read more here and get in touch with us today.

In the community

We’re proud to be continuing our sponsorship of the West Midlands Casualty Simulation Group and the Tamworth Hockey Club heading into 2026.
