In this month’s newsletter, we highlight the importance of first aid and mental health training, celebrate success from our emergency services partners, and share simple ways to support wellbeing at work.
Every nursery needs this
When you’re caring for the youngest members of your community, knowing what to do in an emergency is more than a skill, it’s a responsibility.
In early years settings, first aid and paediatric first aid training equips staff with the knowledge and confidence to act efficiently when every second counts, helping protect children’s lives.

Pushing boundaries
Last month, four team members for West Mercia Search & Rescue travelled to Norway to compete in the SAR Games.
The event pitted 17 teams against each other with a series of search and rescue challenges – and West Mercia Search & Rescue came third place!
Our team was proud to work with our long-term partners, West Midlands Casualty Simulation Group, to support the guys with casualties for their training.
Congratulations to all involved!
An important cause
Whilst we're on the West Midlands Casualty Simulation Group, we shared last month that they have officially become a charity.
They are dedicated to training emergency responders with realistic trauma makeup, special effects and scenarios, so their work requires insurance, makeup, and other props and supplies to make it as effective as possible.
The team has published a GoFundMe page so, if you're able to support them in any way, they would greatly appreciate your donations.
Mental health is an emergency too
When you think of training, it's probably often fire safety, first aid or CPR that springs to mind.
But mental health first aid is just as important.
It's Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year's theme is action. It's a great chance to do those things that help you put your mental health first, whether it's getting active, prioritising your sleep, spending time with friends or simply having more positive conversations at work.
It's also the perfect opportunity to get your team trained on mental health first aid!
Just like with our other training courses, you could save a life.
One step at a time
On the subject of mental health, one habit that helps many of our customers is walking.
This month is National Walking Month, as set up by Living Streets.
It's a simple thing that makes a huge difference, with walking showing links to improved cognitive function, reduced anxiety and better overall mental health.
As the weather starts to warm up and the rain disappears (hopefully for a little longer than it has done), why not get outside a bit more and encouraging your colleagues to do the same?
A match made in heaven
At Eden Custom Training, it's crucial that we get our message out there loud and clear.
Helping us do this is Flamingo Marketing Strategies, our marketing partners based just outside Leamington Spa.
Last month, our Director, Sacha, visited the team to discuss upcoming marketing plans, but also to book in a first aid refresher course for their team. You'd be surprised what incidents can happen even in a small office, so it's essential knowledge is up to date!

Kind words from customers
"Eden Custom Training has supported the delivery of our clinical governance strategy through excellence in clinical training.
The sectors that we work with are multi-faceted, meaning training must be to the highest quality to ensure learners retain knowledge, skills and understanding.
The feedback received from the operational staff for Sacha and his company has been excellent across the organisation."
