Course overview
Part of the Qualsafe Awards (QA) Mental Health suite of qualifications, the qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

- In-depth research in the area of mental health
The Level 1 Award in Introduction to Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF) is for people who want to:
- Raise their awareness of mental health problems associated with work and everyday life and how they can potentially improve their own mindfulness.
Participants will learn about the principles of mental health and mental illness, and about mental health conditions such as depression and suicide. And they’ll build an understanding of stress.
Learners will also be taught about the use of appropriate language when supporting others and the importance of self-care to potentially improve their own mental health.
Course content
What’s covered?
The half-day course covers:
- Mental health and its importance
- A range of common mental health conditions (suicide, stress, depression)
- Self-care and mindfulness
- Promoting positive mental health
Who’s it for?
This qualification is for people who are interested in mental health and want to raise their awareness of mental health in general.
Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training.
Requalification
Learners aren't required to renew this qualification. However, it's recommended they keep up to date with current best practice.
